Biography
Hailing from Clearwater, Florida, Crizzy and the Punx began issuing ska-punk material in May 1996. Steering clear of the fury common to most punk outfits as well as the brass sections favored by third-wave ska ensembles, the band forged an approach that balances punk’s driving force and intensity against reggae’s choppy rhythmic pulse. Their debut release, the album Tight, showcases this hybrid and appeared on the group’s own No Pop imprint in January 1999.
