Biography
Emerging from Ashtabula, Ohio, the black/death metal outfit Crypt Rot channels the spirit of iconic Scandinavian death metal bands including Entombed and Dismember, alongside U.S. heavy hitters like Cannibal Corpse and Death. The group came together in 2016, centered on the skills of former Homewrecker vocalist and guitarist Ryan Sposito, along with drummer and vocalist Matt Izzi whose background includes Homewrecker and Scorched, guitarist Joe DeDedomenic, bassist Aaron Schwarz, and guest vocalist Allie Dioneff. Their first full-length release, Embryonic Devils, arrived in 2017 through Southern Lord Records.
