London's Cymbals craft synth-driven post-punk and dance-rock steeped in '80s textures. The group came together in 2010 with an initial roster of vocalist and guitarist Jack Cleverly, keyboardist Dan Simons, bassist Luke Carson, and drummer Neil Gillespie. Their first full-length, Unlearn, arrived in 2011, and Sideways, Sometimes appeared the next year. Returning in 2014, the band issued Age of Fracture, a title drawn from Princeton academic Daniel T. Rodgers' book of the same name. During the year that followed, internal strain intensified when Cleverly confronted his addiction issues and finalized a divorce. Lineup shifts ensued, trimming Cymbals down to the duo of Cleverly and Simons. The pair resurfaced in 2017 with Light in Your Mind, whose lead single was titled "Decay."
