D Power Diesle, previously known as Diesle D-Power and DJ Diesle, accumulated a long record in British grime both through performances and through his work at the underground station Deja Vu FM. After helping launch the crew D Power, he moved into solo activity across the 2010s and 2020s, issuing a run of high-energy mixtapes and EPs.

He began releasing under the name DJ Diesle in the early 2000s, with early singles such as “Wah” in 2001 and “Salsa” in 2004 that featured Sharkie Major and Maxwell D. The formation of D Power (Diesle, Jookie Mundo, Fumin, Top Kat, Stutta) produced the group’s debut mixtape, Power Moves, Vol. 1, in 2007. Their rapid, dense style over early grime beats reached a high point with the single “Let It Go.” Capitalizing on that momentum, the members issued Power Moves, Vol. 2 the following year, drawing in guests including Wiley, Flowdan, and Skepta. The final release under the original lineup, The Power Mix CD, Vol. 1, collected tracks from the group and its circle of collaborators.

After D Power’s initial run, Diesle shifted focus to solo work in the 2010s, appearing on platforms such as Lord of the Mics and Rinse FM. He released the three-part Progress series—Progress, Progress 2 in 2013, and Progress 3 in 2014—alongside numerous joint tracks with Footsie, Frisco, Flowdan, and others. A 2015 collaboration with D Double E on the track “See No Evil” was followed by additional singles through the middle of the decade, leading to the Shelly EP at the end of 2017. Output slowed late in the decade, but early 2020 brought five singles, among them the Skepta-assisted “Sniper.” Four of those tracks appeared on the eight-track EP Graphene, Vol. 1, which displayed Diesle’s commanding delivery and refreshed grime production.
