Biography
Daisy Hamel-Buffa, who records as DAISY WORLD, works as both a singer and a fashion designer, crafting a style that merges soulful pop with R&B and hip-hop. Her initial recognition arrived when Tyler, The Creator included her on the 2021 track “Rise.” She issued her first album, Toothpick, in 2024.
Hamel-Buffa entered the world in 1995 and spent her childhood in Los Angeles, where her passions for music and fashion design took root. Near 2014 she helped start the band Daisy, whose music fused alternative R&B with indie pop. The group gradually developed an audience, put out several EPs, and then disbanded. Taking the name DAISY WORLD, Hamel-Buffa expanded her reach by appearing on Steve Lacy’s Grammy-nominated Apollo XXI. Rapper Tyler, The Creator soon noticed her and invited her onto “Rise,” a cut from his Grammy-winning album Call Me If You Get Lost. In the next year she issued the solo singles “Sundown/Six Two” and “Picnic.” During this period her custom-made clothing line also drew notice. In 2024 DAISY WORLD released her debut full-length album, Toothpick. Hamel-Buffa produced the record alongside Albert Jairo Gordon and Matt Emonson; its singles were “UR Soggy,” “Break It Off,” and “Pho & Cry.”
