Though originating in Switzerland, Dani Konig steers clear of alpine clichés across his output. Based in Zurich, the acid-house specialist keeps close watch on shifting currents throughout the continent's club landscape. Active on Swiss and German dance floors from the early '80s onward, he has earned consistent praise for his turntable sets. Early in the following decade his compilation Konigreich—translated as Konig's nation—caught attention in stores and achieved strong sales both domestically and internationally. After several of his club tracks surfaced on assorted hit collections, he secured a deal in 1988 with Munich's Kosmo Records, where he stood alongside fellow German talents including Tom Novy, Eniac, Da Hool, and Phil Fuldner. That year he delivered the single "Disco 3000," which reached the top of the dance charts across Europe and the U.S., and reworked Phil Fuldner's massive European success "Final." In 1999 he connected with New York artist Moby to remix the global hit "Bodyrock."
