Daniel O'Sullivan, a British singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, has built a reputation as a prolific artist whose genre-defying solo output spans ambient soundscapes, electro-acoustic pop, progressive classical forms, and hypnotic art-rock. Born in Manchester in 1980, he first rose to attention through contributions to an array of progressive groups that included Guapo, Ulver, Sunn O))), Æthenor, and others. In 2011 he joined forces with fellow songwriter and guitarist Alexander Tucker to launch the psych-pop influenced project Grumbling Fur, which subsequently put out several albums on the Thrill Jockey label. O'Sullivan issued his debut solo album, VELD, in 2017, a record that ventured into territory echoing the early work of Brian Eno.
