This vocalist and songwriter from the United States chose to issue material solely under his individual identity rather than assembling a fixed ensemble, relying instead on various contracted performers throughout his career. During the first half of the 1980s he completed three full-length projects that drew upon the talents of numerous session contributors, among them Earl Slick, Rick Derringer, Carmine Appice, Dana Strum and Frankie Banali. Positioned stylistically midway between Jimmy Barnes and Bryan Adams, he specialized in approachable hard rock driven by rough-hewn vocals and catchy melodic phrases. Nevertheless the compositions never developed a strong sense of individuality, leaving him unable to attain widespread prominence.
