Biography
Darlyn Madé reached a notable milestone by issuing his first album at age 19 under a major-label distribution arrangement. His vocal path had actually started twelve years earlier, when he was only 7 and appeared at festivals throughout his birthplace of Bonao, Santo Domingo. Before establishing Darlyn y Los Herederos—the ensemble that secured his recording contract—he had already led two prior groups, Coco Band and La Muralla. Issued by Darlyn and his band, the album Pruébame reflected the abilities honed across his time with successful Merengue outfits, presenting a set of material that moved between romantic ballads and danceable hits, anchored by the lead single “Lamparita.”
