Biography
Originating from Johor Bahru in Malaysia, Dato Shake achieved major pop success during his time in France after quickly securing a recording contract and issuing the hit single "Tu Sais Je T'Aime" just months after his arrival. Both the track and the artist exerted substantial influence across the international pop landscape, particularly throughout French-speaking countries. Malaysia’s king later honored that achievement by bestowing the title “Dato,” the local counterpart to the English or European designation “Sir.” Shake subsequently appeared on numerous television programs and performed concerts across Europe, Asia, and America, where he started recording an English-language album. Michael Sembello handled production duties on that project, while Dayrell Ross contributed the songwriting.
