Biography
The productions, remixes, and DJ sets of Grammy-winning artist Dave Audé extend across numerous musical styles. Among the performers for whom he has created tracks stand U2, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Britney Spears, Korn, Coldplay, Chris Brown, and Selena Gomez. As a teenager he began tinkering with synths, sequencers, and drum machines; his first paid role came as a MIDI instructor at the Los Angeles Recording Workshop. Early in the 1990s he met club owner Steve Levy, and together they launched the group Lunatic Fringe, an endeavor that directly resulted in the establishment of the Moonshine Music imprint. Once he built a studio in Hollywood, Audé guided the development of the label’s roster. In the ensuing years his work regularly placed on the Billboard dance charts. He founded Audacious Records in 2006, an outlet he employed both to nurture emerging talent such as Luciana, Sisely Treasure, and VASSY and to issue his own Audacious mix compilations. Across that ten-year span he secured more than 100 Billboard dance chart entries while delivering five volumes in the Audacious series. In 2016 he reached the Top 50 alongside Selena Gomez with the single “Kill Em with Kindness,” and the same year he received a Grammy for his remix of Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk.”
