Dave Kusworth

Growing up in Birmingham, England, Dave Kusworth channeled the primal force of the Stooges and the flamboyant excess of the New York Dolls when he assembled his debut outfit, TV Eye, at age 16. The adaptable singer, songwriter, and guitarist subsequently lent his talents to the Hawks, Dogs D'Amour, the Jacobites with ex-Swell Maps mastermind Nikki Sudden, the Bounty Hunters, and the Tenderhooks, while also fronting his own Dave Kusworth Group. His compositions—gritty chronicles of rock & roll sorrow that recall the Faces and the Rolling Stones—have been interpreted by Evan Dando and Mercury Rev and praised by the likes of Tom Waits, Chuck Prophet, and Peter Buck.
