Biography
David Alvarez, a Cuban singer and songwriter, first began exploring traditional music after completing percussion and guitar classes in his native country. He made his initial live appearances during a tour of Cuba alongside local performers, presenting original material to audiences devoted to nueva trova, the style also identified as nueva canción or new song. After contributing vocals with Pedro Luis Ferrer, Alvarez collaborated with a circle of young musicians to establish the band Juego de Manos, which introduced itself to listeners through the album Mundo Loco.
