Biography
David Cortopassi, working as an ambient world fusion composer and multi-instrumentalist, trained in horizontal composition under Lyle Murphy. Through stints in several ensembles he joined tours with the Grateful Dead, the Doobie Brothers, Santana, Elvin Bishop, Bill Medley, and Tower of Power. He went on to compose scores for multiple films, among them The Ultimate Chase and Sign of the Zodiac, in addition to television and radio commercials. On his self-founded Digital Cellars imprint Cortopassi issued the albums The Silicon Jungle and Pharaoh of Mars. After a three-year gap he returned with another release, Embrace Destiny, which appeared in spring 2003 on the same independent label.
