Biography
Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, David Daughtry, a gospel singer, musician, actor, psalmist, and praise & worship director, learned to read and play music by the age of six. After he relocated to Los Angeles, his skills as a support vocalist drew frequent calls to work with Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Kim Burrell, Yolanda Adams, and others, leading him to launch a solo career by signing with Karew Records, the label run by Karen Clark-Sheard and Bishop J. Drew Sheard, and issuing his self-titled debut album there in 2014. Daughtry has also appeared as an actor in First Sunday (2008) and Parenthood (2010) along with additional films, and he serves as leader of praise & worship for the West Angeles Church of God in Christ under Bishop Charles E. Blake, Sr.
