Biography
David Ford first rose to prominence as the lead singer of Easyworld, the British indie rock band that dissolved in 2004, where he built his standing as a skilled vocalist, composer, guitarist, and pianist. Those abilities carried him into a solo path, beginning with the 2005 release of his first album, I Sincerely Apologise for All the Trouble I've Caused. Once he had developed a following across England, Ford headed to Texas for a 2006 appearance at the SXSW festival, and his standout set there secured a contract with Columbia Records. The imprint brought out an American edition of his debut, after which he headed back to Europe to open for Suzanne Vega during her U.K. dates. His next collection, Songs for the Road, surfaced in 2007, followed by its domestic issue in early 2008 through Original Sire Recordings.
