Biography
David Ian, the jazz pianist celebrated for his holiday-themed albums, entered the world as David Ghazarian in Toronto, Canada. Classical piano studies began for him near age five, followed by jazz piano instruction from Pat Pace of Akron, Ohio. Ian also mastered guitar and performed with several rock groups during his formative years. Following college, he contributed guitar to Church of Rhythm—subsequently renamed Superchick—as well as Audio Adrenaline, prior to launching a solo piano path. The year 2011 marked his debut jazz piano release, Vintage Christmas, which garnered favorable notice and led to the 2013 follow-up Vintage Christmas Wonderland. In 2014 Ian issued his third full-length album, the romance-themed Valentine's Day.
