Biography
David Karsten Daniels, a songwriter from Seattle, developed his musical abilities during high school by participating in both a jazz band and a choir. His university studies further expanded his abilities to encompass composition, theory, free improvisation, and performance art. In the years that followed, he embraced a wandering lifestyle, journeying across the globe while capturing his impressions via a four-track recorder; selections from these recordings found their way onto his debut albums, Mayflower (2000) and Out from Under Ligne 4 (2001). Upon completing his education, Daniels relocated to North Carolina, where he established the Bu_Hanan Collective alongside Daniel Hart and Alex Lazara. The year 2004 saw the release of his experimental solo effort Angles, which preceded the dense and heavily orchestrated Sharp Teeth in 2007—this marked his initial output on England's Fat Cat Records. April 2008 brought Fear of Flying.
