Biography
New age composer and keyboardist Davol showed an early passion for music, taking classical piano lessons during childhood and later pursuing studies in jazz along with classical harpsichord at the college level. Electronic sounds also drew his attention, prompting him to compose and lay down original tracks purely as a pastime while he trained in microbiology. Several cassettes shared with acquaintances eventually reached Silver Wave Records, which extended him a recording deal. His first album, Mystic Waves, appeared in 1989, the same year he earned a Ph.D. in microbiology. Although he kept developing new material, such as the 1992 release The Nature of the Beast, Davol maintained his role as a medical researcher until 1996, when he shifted to scoring multimedia projects in tandem with his new age output. That same period saw the arrival of his fourth album, Open Book, in 1999.
