Biography
Formed in Adelaide toward the end of the 1990s, the Australian hardcore band Day of Contempt experienced repeated membership shifts before locking in its lineup of vocalist Benjamin Coyte, bass player/vocalist Daniel Smith, drummer Joel Bourne, and guitarists Simon O'Gorman and Tommy D. That configuration yielded the 2003 album See Through the Lies on the Good Life label. The following year the group moved operations to Los Angeles—an environment far better suited to its aggressive strain of punk-inspired alternative metal—signed with Epitaph, and started work on a new project. The Will to Live EP appeared in 2005.
