Biography
Formed as a partnership between Beau Wanzer, the Chicago experimental house and techno producer, and Maoupa Mazzocchetti, the Brussels electro artist, De-Bons-en-Pierre unites two figures whose solo work centers on dark, gritty tracks that echo the earliest phases of electro and industrial music. The project made its initial appearance through the 2017 release Crepes before issuing further EPs at irregular intervals, among them the 2023 set Card Short of a Full Deck.
During a 2016 stop in Brussels, Wanzer stopped by Mazzocchetti’s home, where the pair devoted an entire day to joint studio work. That session yielded Crepes, a six-track EP whose distorted industrial techno rhythms and playfully demonic vocals surfaced on Dark Entries in 2017. A subsequent reunion in the studio generated two EPs that reached the public at the same time in 2019. Card Short of a Full Deck, a six-track collection written expressly for live performance, followed in 2023.
