De Rosa

Originally formed as a five-piece, De Rosa dissolved in 2003, three years after their start, yet vocalist Martin John Henry chose to revive the band rather than let it end. He recruited brothers Neil Woodside on drums and James Woodside on bass, melodica, and mandolin. Following a year of studio work, the group issued its debut album, Mend, through Chemikal Underground; later the same year guitarist Chris Connick, who had already contributed to much of the record and toured with the band, became an official member. After releasing the 2009 follow-up Prevention, the musicians split once more, this time appearing to be permanent. Their dedicated audience kept expanding, however, and prompted a 2012 reunion limited to the three founding members—Martin John Henry alongside Neil and James Woodside. Immediately after reassembling they began writing fresh material, which yielded the third studio album, Weem, in 2015.
