Biography
Jon DeRosa put out a pair of demos under the Fade alias before switching to the Dead Leaves Rising name in 1996 and embracing a darker, moodier folk sound. Conceived as a solo outlet for singer/guitarist DeRosa, the project racked up numerous live appearances across his native New York City while undergoing repeated lineup shifts. After several self-produced demos and compilation contributions, 1997 brought the arrival of his first CD EP, Shadow Complex.
