Biography
Deanna Kirk, a jazz vocalist and pianist, entered the world and spent her early years on Long Island, NY, before shifting to New York City as a late teenager with the goal of building a music career. In that setting she launched her personal venue, then delivered the 1994 LP Live at Deanna's, an album first planned only for on-site sales at the club yet later distributed nationwide, which secured her a recording agreement with Blackbird. Her opening release for the label, Mariana Trench, surfaced in 1996 and was followed the next year by Where Are You Now.
