Though Switzerland serves as their base of operations, Deathrope channels a deep interest in American sounds and sensibilities into an electrified strain of roots rock that blends blues, country, and hard rock while zeroing in on life's shadowy aspects, a style they label "Rock Noir." The lineup consists of Nathan Denyle handling vocals, guitar, and mandolin, Luke O'Matic on guitar, Richland K. Harper on bass, and Seimen Guzman on drums. Live performances began for the group in 2009, with early shows concentrated in their native Zürich. That year also marked their first studio outing, the six-song EP Bloody Tales. The full-length debut Hang 'Em High arrived the next year in 2010. Expanded road work followed as they took their music to stages throughout Europe, leading after a period away from the studio to the 2014 release of their sophomore album Go!. In 2017, three years after that, they issued their third album Love Hz, with David Langhard serving as producer.
