Biography
Formed as a short-lived endeavor by ex-Jane's Addiction bassist Eric Avery and guitarist Dave Navarro, Deconstruction represented a brief collaboration between the pair. Although the lineup was initially slated to feature the band's former drummer Stephen Perkins, he chose instead to align with Perry Farrell for Porno for Pyros, prompting Michael Murphy to fill the drum position within the three-piece group. In 1994, the act put out their only album, a self-titled effort on Warner Bros., yet without any accompanying tour, the record quickly faded from view after hitting stores. Subsequently, Navarro enlisted with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, released a solo project, and joined multiple Jane's Addiction reunion outings, whereas Avery steered clear of those reunions to devote attention to his fresh ensemble, Polar Bear.
