Born in Austria in 1957, Hermann Delago pursued formal music studies in Innsbruck, where he achieved mastery of both piano and trumpet. His instrumental range extends further to guitar along with roughly two dozen distinctive instruments sourced from various global traditions. He launched his professional path in the rock ensemble Klockwerk Orange, contributing to their 1974 album Abrakadabra. Subsequent affiliations included work with the Austria Trio, Combo Delago, and Viller Spatzen, while he also took on leadership duties in Pentaton Weltmusik. Delago issued his first solo recording, Didge Goes World, in 1996; its cross-cultural compositions integrate synthesizer textures and electric guitar lines with percussion such as the djembe and the resonant tones of the didgeridoo. Two years afterward came Gado Gado, followed in 2000 by Trance Alpin.
