Biography
Emerging from Finland in the early 1990s, Demilich assembled vocalist/guitarist Antti Boman, guitarist Aki Hytonen, bassist Ville Koistenen, and drummer Mikko Virnes into a single lineup. Their only album, Nespithe, appeared in 1993 and delivered an eccentric hybrid that fused elaborate death metal riffs with extremely deep, gurgling vocals before adding wildly exaggerated song titles such as "Erecshyrinol," "And You'll Remain...(In Pieces of Nothingness)" and "The Sixteenth Six-Tooth Son of Fourteen Four Regional Dimensions." Far removed from any prospect of pop success, the material nevertheless stood out for its unmistakable originality.
