Biography
Denice Franke, who would later establish herself as a singer and songwriter, spent her formative years in Dallas, Texas, and joined the Beacon City Band by the close of the 1970s. When that ensemble disbanded, she teamed with one of its former members, Doug Hudson, to launch the duo Hudson and Franke. Her alto drew steady session work as a backing vocalist, which in turn led to a tour with Nanci Griffith. She issued her debut recording, the self-released You Don't Know Me, in 1998, then followed it in early 2001 with Comfort.
