Biography
For many years Denise James has contributed her voice to Detroit's music community. She supplied backing vocals to assorted Motor City ensembles, among them a particular incarnation of multi-instrumentalist and producer Warn Defever's rock/electronic fusion outfit His Name Is Alive and the more rock-directed HNIA offshoot the Dirt Eaters. Matthew Smith of Outrageous Cherry/the Volebeats produced her debut solo album, the self-titled release that appeared on Alan McGee's Poptones label in August 2001.
