Biography
Originating in the Bay Area, indie rock outfit Desoto Reds sprang from the vision of singer/songwriter Alex Sterling. Formed initially as a duo in the late 1990s, the project later expanded into a quartet and drew local attention through its self-produced cassette releases. The Desoto Reds EP surfaced in 1999, yet three years elapsed before Fogsnob Records simultaneously issued two Desoto Reds albums on April 22, 2002: Preppy Freakout, Vol. 1 and the odds-and-ends collection Preppy Freakout, Vol. 2. Floating Man Records then delivered the band’s follow-up, Hanglide Thru Yer Window, on June 1, 2004.
