Biography
Detroit Diamond relocated from Detroit to New York City with aspirations of entering the hip-hop scene, unaware that several performances, a demonstration recording, and informal recommendations would attract attention from figures such as Jay-Z and Russel Simmons. This attention culminated in a contract with Penalty Record during 1999, after which Detroit Diamond issued his debut single "The Come Up" in the remaining months of that same year.
