Deux Visages drew early notice from indie listeners through their blend of sharp riffs and hazy, guitar-led melodies, showcased on tracks such as “Cheetah,” “Tethered,” and “February,” complemented by equally intense performances on stage.
The quartet came together in Miami during the members’ high-school years, with singer Daphney Homono, guitarist Jack Chiu, bassist Tony Jouvin, and drummer Antoine Lappin gradually cultivating a regional audience via a style that merged late-’90s and early-2000s indie rock—the Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs—with present-day reference points like Mitski, Julie, and Momma, plus touches of multigenerational alternative pop from Talking Heads to Paramore.
Following a period of isolation that led them to issue several singles and EPs on their own amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the band relaunched in 2023 via the releases “Cheetah” and “Tethered,” both driven by distorted guitar lines and Homono’s stacked vocal parts. Before the year closed they had joined the Atlantic roster and appeared on the lineup for Miami’s III Points Festival. In 2024 they issued the follow-up single “February” and joined Sir Chloe on the road.
