Biography
Di Xiao, a pianist, launched her international career following her receipt of the "Most Outstanding Young Musician of Guangdong Province" honor at age sixteen. She pursued studies across multiple continents, attending the Odessa Conservatoire, the Central Conservatory of Music Beijing, and the Birmingham Conservatoire in England. Although her performances encompass works by Mozart, Ravel, Albéniz, and various modern creators, she focuses primarily on pieces from the Classical era alongside Chinese folk traditions. In common with peers from her era, Di Xiao aspires to promote both the musical heritage of her homeland and the piano itself. The year 2008 saw the release of her debut solo recording, Di Xiao Presents, with the follow-up album Journey appearing in 2011.
