Biography
Dicró infused his sambas with biting, corrosive humor from the outset, making the 1978 LP Barra Pesada his debut recording. He depicted the struggles of impoverished residents in Rio’s volatile Baixada Fluminense region through his singular lens, ultimately releasing nine LPs and CDs in total. He brought his play O Dia Em Que Eu Morri to the stage in 1991, then joined samba masters Moreira da Silva and Bezerra da Silva for both live performances and the 1995 album Os Três Malandros in Concert: Moreira da Silva, Bezerra da Silva e Dicró.
