Dies Irae

Fronted by the solo-monikered guitarist and vocalist Mauser, Dies Irae has delivered some of the most intense music emerging from Eastern Europe. After dissolving the initial configuration that included guitarist China, bassist Czarny, and drummer Gilan to become part of Vader, a comparable ensemble, during 1997, Mauser elevated the project upon reforming Dies Irae alongside fresh personnel in 2000. The updated roster debuted via the independently funded Immolated, crafted under the guidance of Lukasz Szurminski together with Mauser and the band, which attracted multiple record deal proposals prior to inking with Metal Blade in Los Angeles. Following that came their inaugural release on the imprint, Lion of Knowledge, which appeared in November 2000, and then Sin War two years later. Members of the reformed Dies Irae maintain involvement in additional ensembles, with Novy participating in Behemoth and Devilyn, Hiro belonging to Sceptic, and both Mauser and Doc also active in Sceptic.
