Biography
An integral figure in the development of turntablism remains DJ Cue, whose real name is Frank Cuevas and whose roots trace to Daly City, CA, where his engagement with the turntables commenced in 1987. Among the co-creators of the pioneering battle DJ break record Hamster Break, Vol. 1, he also performed within the Bullet Proof Scratch Hamsters. Alongside Eddie Def, Cue belongs to DMT (Drum Machine Technicians) as well as the Space Travelers, the latter ensemble yielding several albums under his production. Joint work with DJ Quest further defines his output, which received placement on Ohm Records' Deep Concentration 3. The year 2000 brought the appearance of Cue's Hip Hope Shop: Vol. 2, an anthology built around his turntablist productions.
