Biography
Widely regarded as an early innovator in turntablism, DJ Eddie Def (The Last Kreep) developed his distinctive approach through intricate scratching and rapid-fire mixing. His path started in San Francisco’s Mission district, where he first connected with DJ Quest and DJ 2 Fresh. The pair began collaborating in 1988; DJ Cue’s arrival in 1991 completed the lineup of the trio originally known as the Bullet Proof Scratch Hamsters and later renamed the Bullet Proof Space Travelers. Working solo, DJ Eddie Def has issued multiple LPs that highlight some of the most inventive breakbeats and drum-loop combinations on record.
