Biography
Venom entered the world of DJing in 1989 while embedded in the hip-hop scene. Employment at a neighborhood radio station led to an introduction and subsequent collaboration with the hip-hop music director. His growing enthusiasm for the music prompted him to pursue it professionally on a full-time basis. In 1991, encouragement from fellow DJs drew him to his first techno/house event, where the music seized his attention at once and inspired a complete departure from hip-hop. Straight Bangin, his initial mix CD, came out in 2000 and was followed in 2001 by House Blend, Vol. 7. Later volumes appeared in both series, joined by Raise the Volume in 2002, another mix album that underscored Venom’s quick mixing and hardcore aesthetic.
