Chicago rapper and vocalist Doa Beezy moved away from an aggressive rap delivery toward a smoother, partly melodic style that aligned with the wave of tuneful MCs emerging from the city during the final years of the 2010s. A run of singles built around moody, fluctuating beats and verses detailing street hardship plus the challenges of enduring violent surroundings included the particularly intense “Streetz Done.”

Raised on Chicago’s South Side, Doa Beezy began writing rhymes while still in his teens. He initially recorded as DoeBoi Flexx, issuing his own tracks and mixtapes across the middle of the decade. By the close of the 2010s he had adopted the Doa Beezy name, shifting toward a more melodic sound while retaining the raw energy and detailed street narratives that shaped his writing. The summer of 2019 brought his debut single “Streetz Done,” which was followed by fresh releases at regular intervals over the subsequent eight weeks. Tracks such as “Fasho,” “Gang Forever,” and “Viewed” extended the same polished, chorus-driven approach.
