French-born avant-garde musician, multi-instrumentalist, author, and performer Dominique Grimaud, occasionally credited as Grimo, first attracted notice through his role in Camizole, the ensemble that began activity in 1970 and issued its lone recording seven years later. In 1978 he launched the experimental duo Vidéo Aventures alongside Monique Alba, and the pair produced three releases before he redirected his energies toward Peach Cobbler, the group that occupied much of his time throughout the 1990s. Beyond his own projects he has collaborated and appeared onstage with Guigou Chenevier and Gilbert Artman, while also contributing to various music periodicals and publishing several books of his own. The audiovisual installation Slide, completed in 1999, toured multiple venues across France, and in 2008 he issued the Native American tribute album Les Quatre Directions.
