Biography
Donald Allen III launched his path as New Orleans rapper Don Flamingo, also known as “the Show,” only to have Hurricane Katrina interrupt those beginnings when the storm ravaged the city and forced his displacement. The artist, born under that legal name, refused to yield and instead cultivated a following through repeated appearances on the city’s local circuit. Recognition from Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label followed, producing a recording contract. Three volumes of the Neva Say Die mixtape series appeared in 2016, succeeded by the Race to Power EP in 2017.
