Biography
In 1962 the male-female pairing of Don Gardner and Dee Dee Ford scored a Top 20 chart entry with "I Need Your Loving," a recording styled after Ike & Tina Turner. Ten years before that partnership, Gardner had launched the Sonotones, a Philadelphia-based ensemble, and only later joined forces with Ford. Despite the attention generated by "I Need Your Loving," the additional singles issued afterward registered little commercial impact.
