Born in the USA, Griffin works out of Chicago, Illinois, as a singer and guitarist whose sound fuses blues with hard-edged rock accents. He has long ranked among the city’s top draws for live blues audiences and has issued multiple albums on his own. The tracks appearing on those releases include ‘The Rub’, ‘Gone Too Far’, ‘Bad, Bad Man’, ‘Sleeping With The Devil’, ‘Empire State’, ‘Back To Chicago’, ‘Mama’, ‘Found Out’, ‘See It My Way’, ‘Love Remains’, ‘Big Leg Woman’, ‘Long Distance Call’, ‘Whole Heart’ and ‘Rock Me’. Studio collaborators have included Pete Berwick and Billy King.

In more recent years Griffin has concentrated mainly on record production at his own Vital Music Recording studio in Brookfield, Illinois, where Blue Plate Special is among the bands he has captured.
