Biography
In 2011 Irish singer and musician Donna Taggart first drew notice with the appearance of her debut album Celtic Lady, Vol. 1, whose flowing vocals and reassuring readings of classic Celtic ballads and country-folk numbers invited comparisons to Mary Black, Eva Cassidy, and Alison Krauss. From her base in Omagh, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, Taggart saw her profile rise sharply in 2016 once her version of American country-gospel singer/songwriter Jenn Bostic’s “Jealous of the Angels,” already present on 2013’s Celtic Lady, Vol. 2, registered as an international hit.
