Biography
Dora Lopes achieved prominence as both a composer and vocalist throughout the 1950s and 1960s. Her breakthrough came in 1949 when she performed on Ary Barroso's novice show, which brought her instant acclaim. During that era she lent her talents to key broadcasters including Nacional and Mayrink Veiga. Multiple European tours followed, alongside successful recordings such as "Pó-de-Mico," "Samba da Madrugada," "Ponto de Encontro," "Amor Proibido," and "Velório de Sambista."
