Biography
Jeffrey B. Jackson, an experimental musician, often records under the name Dord and has pursued increasingly novel sonic ground with every project issued since the late '80s. His first release, The Dismal Sounds of Dord, assembled across six years, presented an eccentric assortment that incorporated psychiatric patient interviews, scratched vinyl surfaces, and occasional polished compositions. Subsequent works arrived in quick succession: the atmospheric Experiment and Discussion and Schwersystem, the cyclical and machine-like De Re Metallica, the noise-saturated Super-Sonic Misery, Paris in the Spring with its emphasis on field recordings from the French capital, and the plainly titled Live at Macy's. Anyone drawn to obscure and highly experimental music should seek out these Dord recordings.
