Biography
In 1967 Geoff Krivit, once guitarist and bassist for John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, assembled the short-lived blues-and-boogie outfit Doctor K's Blues Band together with pianist Richard "Dr. K" Kaye and vocalist/harmonica player Mick Hasse. Issued the following year, the group's self-titled album presented authoritative readings of blues standards and spotlighted the striking piano boogie "Crippled Clarence," yet the record attracted almost no buyers and the band promptly split. Thereafter most participants in Doctor K's Blues Band, Krivit included, withdrew from the music world; the guitarist had earlier revealed strong potential during his brief replacement of Eric Clapton in Mayall's Bluesbreakers. Drummer Eric Peachey alone made a quick return, joining Steve Hillage's early-'70s ensemble Khan.
