Biography
Originating in the Chicago vicinity, indie rock outfit Dr. Manhattan drew its name from the Watchmen series written by Alan Moore and assembled in 2005. The lineup of Matt Engers (vocals, guitar), Adam Engers (bass), Nick Vombrack (drums, vocals), and Andrew Morrison (keyboards, percussion, keyboards) developed a reputation for their boisterous live performances while attracting favorable notices from AbsolutePunk.net critics. Dr. Manhattan secured a contract with Vagrant Records in 2007 and started sessions with producer Jon Alvin for the band’s debut effort. The self-titled album reached stores in 2008.
