Biography
In 1969 the five-piece psychedelic outfit Dragonwyck assembled in Cleveland around vocalist Bill Pettijohn, guitarist Tommy Brame, keyboardist Kenneth Staab, bassist Michael Gerchak and drummer Jack Boessneck. Deeply shaped by the Doors, the band issued no commercial recordings while together, although an unreleased full-length acetate cut in 1971 still commands strong collector demand. Dragonwyck tracked a second acetate in 1973 that drew clear inspiration from the Moody Blues; shifting toward a boogie-rock style in their closing period, the group disbanded in 1975, after which Pettijohn assumed leadership of the long-running Doors tribute band Moonlight Drive.
